Last week Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said at a town hall meeting in Washington, DC bookstore, Busboys and Poets:
“I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country. I want to ask why is it OK for me to talk about the influence of the NRA (National Rifle Association), of fossil fuel industries or Big Pharma, and not talk about a powerful lobbying group that is influencing policies?”
Consequently, Congress is attempting to pass anti-hate legislation to condemn all forms of bigotry beyond anti-semitism. Though the bill does not mention Omar by name, it obviously stems as a result of this ludicrous rouse.
It Started in February on Twitter
The controversy began when journalist Glenn Greenwald tweeted about House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy threatening to punish Omar and another congresswoman for being accusatory of Israel. Omar responded on Twitter, “It’s all about the Benjamins Baby,” a Puff Daddy song lyric about hundred-dollar bills.
In another tweet soon after, Rep. Omar accused American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) of funding Republican Party support for Israel. This post fueled harsh bipartisan backlash to the point of accusing her of anti-semitic speech.
Then, Representative Omar apologized, though holding firm to her criticism of lobbying power that she sees as problematic.

CHRISTOPHER NAWOJCZYK: What anti-semitism? Seriously. I am astonished after looking into the matter to discover what exactly she said. I find reasonable, civilized disagreement over lobby behavior as well as showing nationalism to one’s own country. Where is the anti-semitism? You tell me. In fact, no one is able to give me a straightforward logical answer. Those who think otherwise have bought into a cult that renders blind allegiance to a foreign nation that treats Palestinians like industrial cattle in an open-air prison. Not that Palestine or Hamas are virtuous either (I support neither side).
Anti-semitism is a hostility or prejudice against Jews. It falls under racism because it is ethnic-oriented, characterizing offensive detestation toward a group of people based solely on their DNA and perhaps religious customs and traditions. True anti-semitism is a totally different subject. Far be it from me to buy into this nonsense. Nothing Ilhan Omar expressed from these accounts were anti-semitic. Our nation is full of ‘sheeple’ who are programmed to believe anything from the establishment.
Ilhan Omar wrote in a tweet (after apologizing) her critical view of lobby power whether from AIPAC, the NRA, or the fossil fuel industry. Though I do not agree with Congresswoman Omar on many political topics, I defend her on this ground because she exercised her right of free speech—something that Congress has a duty to defend. Thus she upheld her citizenship to the United States by showing remorse for the rampant disease of slave-allegiance to Israel without question.
Donald Trump Made Stupid Remarks
President Donald Trump said to the press that Congresswoman Omar was “terrible what she said,” and that she ought to step down from Congress or at least the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Donald Trump, Shut up. You are so full of yourself and your stupid ideas. I am sick and tired of hearing your simplistic mind rattle-off cheap, cynical platitudes that defy reason and sophisticated foresight. Nothing Rep. Omar said was “anti-semitic;” you know it, and everyone else knows it too. You are all a bunch of petulant children who need to grow up.
Democracy Now! is Not Afraid of AIPAC
Democracy Now! has a good video on how ridiculous these claims of anti-semitism are. Not that I agree with everything this network advocates, but as a libertarian I think for myself. Because I am NOT a follower of the blue team or the red team. I am an individual who uses both my brain and heart.
[Update] Ron Paul Liberty Report Weighs In
The Ron Paul Liberty Report on YouTube is my favorite libertarian channel because Dr. Paul and Daniel McAdams speak the truth with integrity. They do not have money in the game and are not trying to cater to anyone but sincere, upstanding Americans who support the ideals of individual liberty from the Founding. Today, special guest Phil Giraldi appears on the show to remark on this congressional (and nationwide) uproar.
